Wednesday's Flower

Wednesday's Story
Have you ever…
Delicately touched a geranium leaf and then smelled your fingers? If you have, you have connected with the flowers in a whole other dimension besides the visual. The aroma doesn’t last long, but it’s a lovely way to engage another one of our senses with this bloom. I know I could be more aware of my sense of smell, as it takes a little more effort and awareness to delight in.
P.S. The same can be said about herbs and their leaves. It is such a delightful and fun experience!
points of interest
Stellar Geraniums are named for their irregular, star-shaped flowers and pointy, lobed leaves. Also classified as a zonal geranium, due to form (erect, bushy, succulent stemmed) and parentage. Compact in habit, forming a mound of gold leaves with bronze center splotches. Clusters approximately 3” across rise above the foliage, composed of single, orange-red flowers. Perfect for annual containers or window boxes.
general care
Grow in fertile, non-acid, well-drained soil in full sun, however tolerates some shade. Fertilize spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Deadhead regularly.
