Wednesday's Flower

Wild Sweet William | Meadow Phlox

Wednesday's Story

What is your definition of perfection?

This flower is a bright, fuchsia bloom that has character from nature’s elements… but is it imperfect or natural? Maybe that’s how we should all view ourselves: not as imperfect, but natural.

points of interest

An upright, unbranched plant with linear to ovate, smooth leaves that are sometimes spotted or streaked. In early and midsummer, narrow, conical panicles of fragrant violet, white or pink flowers appear. Well suited for the middle of a border. A nectar source for butterflies and other pollinators.

general care

Grow in fertile, moist soil in full sun or partial shade. Cut back in autumn.

friday’s flower fact
