Wednesday's Story
Hey, can you see me..?
I’m the tight raspberry bud behind the flower looking to get all of your attention. Sure, the bloom’s magenta color is bold and vibrant. Its ruffled petals, that look like they are unfurling right before your eyes, are captivating. Its vibrant pinkish-red petals, that attract hummingbirds to the unexpected yellow center anther, are joyous. Well, I’m going to be that alluring next, so don’t forget about me and come visit again soon.

points of interest
Overlapping ruffled petals form huge magenta flowers with yellow anthers and a dark eye. The form is rounded and bushy with ovate, glossy green leaves. Attracts hummingbirds and deer resistant. Excellent in shrub border or large planter. Blooms July through September.
general care
Heat tolerant, but performs best in full to partial sun in moist, acid-neutral, fertile soil with good drainage. Deadhead to prolong bloom. Minor pruning is necessary. Stems will die down to the ground over winter in colder climates.
