Wednesday's Flower

Wednesday's Story
100 Thousand Petals…
And maybe even more,
Petal after petal
Folding out from its core.
A sunrise in the making
A sunset to look for,
Soft, gentle petals
And beauty galore.
A flower that Theodore Roosevelt
Would have adored…

points of interest
Compact sunflower ideal for containers. Flower heads are deep yellow and fully double, lending a fuzzy appearance. Stems are bristly, and leaves are large, coarse, hairy and heart-shaped. Plants tend to grow to 12” in containers but full-height in field. Quick growing, branching, ideal as a cut flower and attractive to pollinators. Cut sunflowers in the morning just after opening for longest vase life. Popular with children.
