FLOWER QUOTE: LET US BE GRATEFUL Oct 23, 2017
Let us be grateful for people

MY TWO CENTS
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Thank you…Admittedly, I have not read any of Marcel Proust’s writings, and having researched his life, I’m not so sure where this lovely quote would have emanated from. I will say, though, if this is a refection of his writing as a novelist, I should definitely take time to read his work.

Now in turn, I will thank all of you charming gardeners, my friends, who have tended my soul to blossom. I would not be the person I am without any of you!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Marcel Proust (July 10, 1871 – November 18, 1922) was born in Auteuil, the 16th arrondissement in Paris, at his great-uncle’s home. At age nine he had an asthma attack, which marked the beginning of the health issues that he dealt with for the rest of his life. At a young age Proust started writing and publishing in literary magazines. His first book was a culmination of his earlier writing which was published in 1986, Les Plaisirs et les Jours. He is best known for his novel ‘À la recherche du temps perdu’, which translates to In Search of Lost Time. It was published in seven parts between 1913 and 1927, though the last volume was edited posthumously. Proust was considered by essayists and critics to be one of the most influential authors of the 20th century.[1]
