DID I HEAR A ‘HALLELUJAH’? Apr 01, 2018
Did I Hear A 'Hallelujah'?

Did I hear a ‘Hallelujah’? It must have come from inside me, from the bottom of my toes to the top of my head, because the spring festival has started. Though we have had four Nor’easters this March, I wouldn’t let it get me down because I knew spring was around the corner. The corner turns, and we can anticipate something better, warmer, brighter: the blue skies extending into evening, the warmth of the sun on my face, stumbling upon the first Crocus, Daffodil or Snowdrop flower.

I find that spring brings moments of surprise. When I see the first flowers pushing through the cold, frozen ground, it brings a smile to my face.

I find that spring brings moments of surprise. When I see the first flowers pushing through the cold, frozen ground, it brings a smile to my face. When that anticipatory thaw begins, joy abounds. It creates wonder of how that precious, fragile flower can survive such a winter and thrive. It reminds me there is always hope, even when living through the longest winter.

That spring has sprung is quite invigorating. Whether you’re experiencing spring as we are in the Northeast or not, we can all learn from the tenacity of flowers. Flowers can endure the hardship of a late winter, and we, too, can survive from the things that challenge us the most.

With the arrival of spring, I hope you can treat yourself to a bunch of daffodils this week. Go on a walk in search of the first flowers breaking ground and let them inspire you. Open yourself to the beauty and power of flowers, to let their loveliness melt away the cold and snowy layers of winter.
