MY TWO CENTS
Almost every person, from childhood, has been touched by the untamed beauty of wildflowers… I do hope everyone as a child or as an adult has had the chance to experience a wildflower or a field of wildflowers. For me, reading this quote brings me back to those times of experiencing the wonder of wildflowers as a child. That feeling is one I want to reflect on and take hold of so that I can bring that sense of wonder into my life today.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
There is a lot to be said about Lady Bird Johnson (December 22, 1912 – July 11, 2007). She was an intelligent woman who purchased and managed a radio and TV station, which made her a millionaire. She was also very involved in her husband’s political career and received the highest U.S. civilian honors: Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal. What I relate to with Lady Bird Johnson the most is our love of flowers. She was an advocate for beautifying our cities and highways and helped with the Highway Beautification Act. In Austin, Texas, there is the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center… a place I visited this year, and I will have more about that coming up on my next blog post.
