MY TWO CENTS
Patience is not simply the ability to wait – it’s how we behave while we’re waiting… Having patience is not necessarily my strong suit. With that said, I’m in complete agreement with this quote, as I will reflect on myself and am often disheartened by my lack of patience. I liken patience to growing a garden or forcing bulbs inside during the winter time. You put in the hard work to nurture something beautiful and from there you have no other control but to wait patiently to see how it will all evolve. Being impatient doesn’t change anything.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
The author of this quote was born as Pauline Joyce Hutchison (June 4, 1943) in St. Louis, MN. She graduated from O’Fallon Technical High School in St. Louis. She was married for five years and then divorced. She remarried in 1967 to Dave Meyer and they had four children. Meyer had been a born again Christian when she was nine, but did not have a very religious background, nor did she attend church. In 1976, she said she was praying to God and later that evening at the bowling alley she was “drunk with the Spirit of God”. She started to attend a Lutheran church, and then she started a bible study at Life Christian Center, which is a charismatic church, where she became an associate paster. After a few years, Meyer resigned and started her own ministry, which has grown along with her radio show, numerous books, and for a period of time, a TV show. She has received criticism for her excessive lifestyle, but she does not apologize for it. In 2005, Time magazine’s “25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America” ranked her as 17th.(1)
