FLOWER QUOTE: REST AND BE THANKFUL Sep 03, 2018
Rest and Be Thankful - William Wordsworth

MY TWO CENTS
Rest and be thankful…What a simple, but very meaningful quote. It says so much with so few words. With today being Labor Day here in the United States and Canada, it says exactly what we should be doing today: resting. It is a day to be thankful for both the work we have and gives us a day to relax; a day to rejuvenate and be grateful.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
William Wordsworth’s (April 7, 1770 – April 23, 1850) parents were John Wordsworth and Ann Cookson. He was the second of five children. The closet relationship he had was with his sister, Dorothy, who was born about a year later. They were separated when their mother died and did not see each other for many years. Wordsworth and his father did not have a close relationship. His father did encourage his reading and putting to memory works such as Milton, Shakespeare and Spenser.

Wordsworth had a daughter, Caroline with a french woman, Annette Vallon in France. Due to financial issues and the strain between France and England, he had to return to England without them. About nine years later, he returned to France to let Annette and Caroline know that he was to be married. Wordsworth married Mary Hutchinson, who he had five children with. He continued to support Caroline with the encouragement of his wife, Mary.

William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge started the Romantic Age in English Literature. He was and is a well-known poet. One of his most popular poems was The Prelude, though originally called Poems to Coleridge. This particular poem, he rewrote a number of times, and it was published by his wife after his death. Here are a few of his many other works for your perusal: Lines Written in Early Spring, The Two April Mornings, I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud.
