MY TWO CENTS
To be interested in Winter Solstice coming is not always easy here in the Northeast with cold, blustery days and snow imminent, but I can get excited about the fact that it will bring with it the start of longer days and there is something so beautiful with winter’s light. For me, snow falling is so magical, and I know that my bulbs and perennial gardens are nicely tucked in for the winter and preparing to bring a beautiful spring and summer. Each season brings something special and prepares me and nature for the next.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
George Santayana’s formal name is Jorge Agustín Nicolás Ruiz de Santayana y Borrás. He was born in Spain, grew up in the US from age eight and at age 48 returned to Europe and never returned to the US. He was a poet, essayist, novelist and philosopher and known for his aphorisms.
