TAKING A MOMENT TO BE PRESENT Sep 23, 2014
My Blooming Blog - Floating Petals - Russian Princess Tulip

I have often thought of the woman who works in the offices I described in my last blog, and the woman whose office is her car, as she runs every which way to take care of all of the people in her world. These women are my Everywoman: on a Go! Go! Go! schedule; caring for kids, a parent, friend, lover; or log-jammed in a demanding job. But she is also that searcher, that seeker of beauty. I see her scurrying off, coffee in hand, thinking of all the emails waiting for her: telling her what she needs to do, reminding her of what she hasn’t done, and badgering her to buy, buy, buy. I see her as she almost skips a step when she remembers today is Wednesday. And now, sipping her coffee at her computer, she knows that one email is waiting just for her and it is Wednesday’s Flower. This email isn’t asking anything of her, instead, it’s giving her a moment for herself, a moment to take and be present; to engage in the story and drink in the beauty of Wednesday’s Flower. Now, in taking this moment, her day starts on a different note. After reading the story and soaking in the flower, she downloads it for her desktop or maybe prints it out as a reminder of a moment that she connected to that day. She moves into her day with space, because she knows she can always come back to that moment, to the beauty and wonder of that flower. She can now let the busy day spin somewhere outside of her view, even if just for another moment.

Please share with me what do you do in a day that allows you to pause and be in the moment. And if you would like a moment created just for you, join us at floatingpetals.com to enjoy Monday’s Flower Quote, Tuesday’s Flower Blog, Wednesday Flower, Friday’s Flower Facts and Saturday’s Cutting Room Floor.
