With the holidays here, I wanted to share a few favorite holiday gift ideas I love to give:
FORCED BULBS
I like to buy bulbs that have been forced for growing indoors and plant them myself in a clay pot to give a little personal touch to my gift along with a bow and instructions on how to grow. My two favorites to give are Amaryllis, which fill a room with color and beauty, and Paper Whites, which smell divine. You can also purchase them as a kit, which is really easy to put together even for the non-gardener.
ORNAMENTS
A very fun gift I received last year from my in-laws was a set of six glass ornaments with air plants, Tillandsias. I have since seen these same ornaments with Red Spanish Preserved Moss inside the glass ornament with an air plant laying on top of the moss which has a very holiday look. Easy to assemble and fun to receive along with the air plant lasting beyond the holidays.
UNIQUE ONLINE FLOWER EXPERIENCE
Of course, my favorite gift of all is gifting a membership to floatingpetals.com. A gift that gives all year-long for only $9.99 whether for a Secret Santa gift, special birthday, Hanukkah, Christmas, a house warming gift or just to say “I was thinking of you and want to share a flower with you every week.” You can gift a membership with a personal note via email and arrange it to arrive any day of the week or for an additional $4.99 each, you can send your gift via First Class Mail (shipping in the US only), which will arrive in a white box with your note on a Floating Petals card and a lavender sachet wrapped delicately in a cellophane bag secured with a bow and surrounded in tissue.
Just a few ideas for a blooming personal gift to give and please share with me your favorite blooming gift(s) to give.

Every year my office has a Yankee Swap party where everyone brings an affordable gift to share, and each year at least one person brings a flower bulb or bulbs that have been forced and are ready to plant for holiday blooms. It is usually the most popular gift in the game. Most often it is an amaryllis or paper whites, but this year – calla lilies! And yet again, the were the year’s most coveted gift.
Approved.
Best,
Cheryl
