I had anticipated sharing the story of where the name ‘Floating Petals’ came from today, but instead I came across a quote by Georgia O’Keeffe that I shared yesterday, and it encompasses all that my website is about, which is how flowers can become your world, your view and change a moment in an instant.

Life is active and always changing. We have to seek out those things that make us most happy, that bring joy to our day, for me that something is flowers. I know I want to live and breathe flowers as much as I can and with that share as many beautiful moments with you to create more thoughtful and happier times in our day. I find that taking time to focus on flowers can take a tough day and bring it to a peaceful place. Flowers create a sunny spot on a dreary day, they change a moment into something delightful and meaningful, they are one of the places I can go when I need to brighten my day.

I love the lessons they teach me, the innocence of their beauty and the intricacies and details of each flower I come across. I continue to be amazed by the individuality of each one. I appreciate having the simplicity of a single flower on my desktop that I can keep going back to throughout the week and be in awe of its uniqueness. I so enjoy seeking out each flower that I photograph from either my own garden, when visiting botanical gardens or somewhere else along the way. Each experience its own and each one I want to share.

So, I hope you ‘hold’ the flower at the top of this post and really look at it. Make it your world for a moment.
