I often hear about the color of the year, but I don’t think about how it infuses itself into our view. It inspires the world of interior decorating, graphic design, fashion and so much more. The Pantone Color of the Year 2018, Ultra Violet (purple), is a favorite of mine and has been most of my life. I grew up with my bedroom painted in lavender along with a gingham bed spread and pillows that my mom made for me. My passion for purple didn’t stop there, as I now have a deep, but muted purple office which I love. My fondness for purple was also integrated into the Floating Petals logo.

What’s wonderful about color is how there are various shades of it to work with. It makes it malleable and personal. According to Pantone.com, color has an “ability to convey deep messages and meanings”. But color doesn’t have to be bold and cover all of walls in a room to change a mood or create a feeling. Imagery and nuances can change the space we live and work in. Our gardens are another way to add the colors we want to interact with.
Below are some various hues of this year’s color of the year, in the form of Wednesday’s Flowers in shades of Ultra Violet. I hope they bring you some inspiration by adding it to your surroundings, whether inside or out.
Check out our collection of Ultra Violet flowers to update your home, office or technology, with all sorts of options: Art Prints, Wall Tapestries, Notebooks, Pillows & Shams, Wall Clocks, Throw Blankets, Rugs, Mugs, Towels, Tote Bags, Stationery Cards, Stickers, Smart Phone Cases, Laptop Sleeves & Skins, Carry-All Pouches and so much more.
