MY TWO CENTS
“May the road rise to meet you,
may the wind be ever at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.”…

I have heard this blessing many times and have always appreciated it. It’s a very thoughtful quote from the person saying it to the person it’s bestowed upon. May you hear it being read to you and “may God hold you in the palm of his hand.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
With the scholars and saints that Ireland is known for, I was unable to find a specific author for this quote. Also, there is no known date for it; it could be hundreds of years old. I have always considered Irish blessings to be welcoming and positive. I’m not sure, though, that this is true about this other “blessing” I came across while searching for the week’s quote. It did give me a good laugh, though, as it was quite unexpected:

May those who love us, love us;
And for those who don’t love us,
May God turn their hearts;
And if He doesn’t turn their hearts,
May He turn their ankles,
So we will know them by their limping!
