FLOWER QUOTE: TO FORGET HOW TO DIG May 21, 2018
Monday's Flower Quote: To Forget How To Dig

MY TWO CENTS
To forget how to dig the earth and to tend the soil is to forget ourselves… In my twenties, I lived in an apartment with a small patio where I planted my container gardens every summer. Looking back, though, I don’t think I was as aware of my love of “tending” the soil. Now I can’t wait to get my hands into the earth and plant, whether it be a small pot that sits on my window sill, planting perennials in garden or sowing a small spec of a seed in my cutting garden. Each and every one of those types of planting creates connection to this amazing and awe-inspiring earth. I find that it’s both therapeutic and meditative, which is much welcomed in my crazy, hectic life.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Mahatma Gandhi (October 2, 1869-January 30, 1948) was born and raised as a Hindu in India and became a lawyer in London. He was most known for organizing nonviolent civil marches in both South Africa and India. He was imprisoned on numerous occasions, and dealt with racial, physical and verbal abuse in both countries. Mahatma Gandhi handled all of these situations with nonviolence and honesty, and he encouraged all to do the same. If you have never seen the movie, Ghandi, played by Sir Ben Kingsley, I highly recommend seeing it. To this day, it still impacts me.
