Being a photographer, graphic artist and art director, I’m fascinated by and drawn to color. I love lots of color and working with various combinations of it in all areas of my life. So, I have become quite intrigued by the Pantone Color of the Year.
This year’s color is coral, and I have found that I’m hard pressed to find Wednesday’s Flowers in this color. So, I became curious about how many colors, over the past ten years, I could find in my blooming photography.
Last year I enjoyed sharing the many Wednesday’s Flowers that reflected Pantone’s 2018 Ultra Violet. This year’s color is coral, and I have found that I’m hard pressed to find Wednesday’s Flowers in this color. So, I became curious about how many colors, over the past ten years, I could find in my blooming photography. In procuring the last ten years, I have been reminded of how nature is integral in creating and molding our color palette, and here are some examples:
Pantone Color of the Year from 2009-2019

2016 Rose Quartz and…
Throughout this next year, I’ll enjoy the challenge to see if I can find more blooms to reflect the Pantone Color of the Year for 2019 Coral, 2015 Marsala, 2013 Emerald and 2010 Turquoise. In the meantime, to see the many variations of coral and how color infuses itself into our lives, check out Pantone’s Tools for Designers. They also have a post that shows different color palettes using coral, which is a fun and interesting way to see how one color is so effected by its surroundings/other colors.
Share with me below: What area of your life can you find a sample of some of these colors?
